¨ 357 / 375 Yards index 7&8 ¨ 308 Yards index 10&9
1st & 10th hole are straight par 4s, with bunker left and trees right awaiting any loose tee shots. An accurate second shot is required to the long narrow, flat green with a deep greenside bunker on the right side waiting for victims.
¨ 353 / 355 Yards index 10&9 ¨ 353 Yards index 6&5
The 2nd & 11th hole are another straight par 4s with accuracy crucial off the tee. Out of bounds all down the left side with trees right & left and a wall on the right to trap any wayward shot. The second shot is to a green that slopes from front to back, with club selection important.
¨ 135 Yards index 17&18 ¨ 130 Yards index 17&18
The 3rd & 12th holes are good scoring chance, 135 yard all carry par 3, with well placed bunkers front and left. The green slopes gently from back to front, with slight breaks in most putts.
¨ 359 Yards index 5&6 ¨ 359 Yards index 2&1
The 4th & 13th holes are challenging par 4s with trees left and right. The fairway slopes strongly from right to left with two fairway bunkers to trap big drives. The second shot demands great attention to the smallest green on the course. The green is elevated with any shot short, left or long leaving a delicate chip, with an unforgiving 200 year old oak defending the right side. The green slopes from right to left leaving tricky putts, which can be easily misread.
¨ 150 Yards index 13&14 ¨ 115 Yards index 16&15
The 5th & 14th holes are problematic 150 yard all carry par 3s, with significant elevation from tee to green of at least one extra club required. Any shot short can potential role back 30 yards, while long leaves a fiddly chip. The green slopes from back to front leaving slippery putts that must be respected.
¨ 431 Yards index 1 ¨ 339 Yards index 4&3
The 6th hole is a most difficult dogleg left par 4 demanding a straight drive with huge trees blocking any shots down the left. Players are left with a long second shot with out of bounds all down the left with the ideal shot just right of the green. The putting surface slopes from right to left towards the lovely river Blackwater
¨ 397 Yards index 3&2 ¨ 384 Yards index 8&7
7th & 16th hole “Rothwell's” is our signature hole a straight par 4. With no out of bounds, water or bunkers this hole seems easy but has destroyed many a fine round. The fairway slopes violently from left to right with most drive ending in the rough and tee shot up left are blocked by large trees. The second shot is all carry with an extra club required and accuracy is essential. Missing the green on the high side left leaves a most testing chip to a green that slope wickedly from left to right. Putts on this green have significant breaks with speed and line essential.
¨ 359 Yards index 12 ¨ 265 Yards index 14&13
The 8th hole has a slight dogleg right par 4 posing any interesting tee shot, big hitters clear the big trees or else play between them to a downhill fairway but beware of out of bounds left. The green is significantly elevated with extra club required but you can’t be long as the green slopes extremely from back to front. Putting downhill can lead to chipping back up.
¨ 328 Yards index 15&16 ¨ 294 Yards index 12&11
The 9th & 18th holes are slight dogleg par 4s and a potential birdie hole. But don’t get greedy with your drive as the “3 sisters” three huge trees, will swallow your golf ball. The second shot is to the largest green on the course with a bunker front left.
¨ 502 Yards index 11
The 15th hole is the only par 5 on the course and a good birdie chance. Off the tee beware of trees blocking any shots down the right. Players are left with a long second shot with out of bounds all down the left. For your third shot take dead aim at the flag where the putting surface slopes from right to left towards the lovely river Blackwater.
¨ 401 Yards index 4
The 17th hole has a tight dogleg right and is the most difficult par 4 driving hole on the course. Very big hitters can clear the big trees or else play between them to a downhill fairway. The green is significantly elevated with extra club required but you can’t be long as the green slopes extremely from back to front. Putting downhill can lead to chipping back up.
